Big-firm training. One-person attention.
David Tucker started at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen, then spent years in senior financial management at United Technologies Corporation and several start-ups before opening his own practice in 2000.
Today he works directly with every client: individuals, S and C corporations, partnerships, LLCs, trusts and estates. He takes a semi-aggressive approach to tax law, quotes a fixed fee before any work starts, and answers questions during the year without a meter running.

A simple process, start to e-file.
Most clients never need to visit. Everything moves through a shared Dropbox folder, and the review happens by phone or Zoom. Austin clients can meet in person by appointment.

Step 01
Free conversation
Phone, Zoom or a coffee bar in Austin. David listens, explains the options and quotes a fixed fee.
Step 02
Dropbox and organizers
You get a shared folder. Fill in the organizer for your situation and drop in your documents.
Step 03
Preparation and questions
David prepares the return in Drake Tax and asks about anything that needs a decision.
Step 04
Review, sign, e-file
A walk-through of the numbers, your e-signature on Form 8879, and the return is transmitted.

Questions
Things people ask before they call.
Short answers to the questions that come up in almost every first conversation. The full list is on the FAQ page.
Is the initial consultation free?
Yes. The first conversation costs nothing, whether it is in person in Austin, by phone or on Zoom. David listens to your situation, tells you what he would do and quotes a fixed fee if you decide to move forward.
How does fixed-fee pricing work?
Before any work starts, David quotes one price for the project: a tax return, an entity setup, a bookkeeping clean-up or a monthly bookkeeping and payroll arrangement. You know the cost up front, and most ongoing questions during the year are answered without an additional charge.
Do I have to be in Austin?
No. David works with clients across the United States and abroad by phone, Zoom, email and Dropbox. Austin-area clients can meet in person at his home office in north Austin or at a nearby coffee bar.
Where do we meet in person?
David works from a home office and keeps in-person meetings to a few per week, by appointment. Many Austin clients prefer a coffee bar, and that works well for an initial conversation or a review of the return.
Do you work in Spanish?
English is the primary language of the practice. Spanish-speaking clients are welcome; David's spouse assists with Spanish directly and indirectly so nothing is lost.
