Form 1040

Individual Tax Preparation

Your personal return, prepared by the same CPA you talk to. Form 1040 with every schedule your situation needs, reviewed with an eye on next year as much as this one.

Overview

Most of the individual returns David prepares belong to people whose finances are no longer simple: a W-2 plus a side business, rental property, stock or option income, a home office, a move between states, or a year with a life change such as a sale, an inheritance or a new baby. Each of those creates choices on the return, and the choices add up.

David takes a semi-aggressive approach to tax law. That means claiming what the law allows, documenting it so it holds up, and avoiding positions that invite an audit without a real payoff. You get a return that is complete, defensible and filed on time.

Questions do not stop in April. Clients can call or email during the year about a withholding change, an estimated payment, a 1099 that showed up unexpectedly or a decision with tax consequences. For most ongoing questions there is no additional charge.

David reviews withholding and estimated payments as part of the return so the following year is planned, not a surprise. Payment plans with the IRS are possible when needed.
